We arrived in Christchurch on the 3rd of June, and were met by your staff to take
us to your office to pick up the car which we booked in advance. While doing the
documentation we realized that we have left our driver’s licence back in Singapore.
All of a sudden our plans were washed down the drain. We were at a loss as what
to do. It was Sunday and for the next two days it’s holiday in New Zealand.
Mr Paul Johnson who handled us was very helpful and tried calling on our behalf
to AA to see if they can help as we are member’s of the AA. As it was Sunday,
we couldn't get to speak to anybody with authorities. Paul was really nice, he arranged
for a shuttle to take us to our hotel and tentatively, booked the car for us for
another day and gave advice on what to do.
We were very happy when eventually our driver’s licence arrived, we called
your city branch that we are going to pick up the car and that was around 4pm. We
did not know that the office closed at 5pm. Again all hell broke loose, we were
thinking that our last hope is the airport branch but there again we found out that
the airport branch also closed at 5pm. We still do not want to give up hope and
tried calling a few more times to the airport branch hoping somebody is around and
will pick up the phone eventually. Luck is with us and finally, Paul picked up the
phone, we told him what happened and he told us that he will try and see if he can
get the city branch guy to go back to the office to hand us the car but unfortunately,
he couldn’t. He was so nice and helpful and volunteered to bring the car to
us in the city and we will drive him back to the airport to do the documentation
and to collect his car. Words cannot describe how happy we were, if not for him,
we will not be able to go to the mountains. With good weather we really had an enjoyable
and memorable holiday. We told our friends what an adventure it turned out to be,
everybody had a good laugh. For sure, we will never forget Paul and Roadtrip, we
will not hesitate to recommend to our friends your company.
Once again, a big THANK YOU to Paul and Roadtrip.
Cheers!!
